Had a lot of fun watching this ep again, but there was one thing that made me cringe:
Hearing Brennan tell Jess about the good old days of boosting cars and robbing banks with a proud smirk on his face. *sigh* Just when you think Brennan is a truly reformed criminal... No matter how good of a guy he is, if it wasn't for Mutant X he just might still be a common thug.

It just bothers me cause even though I know Brennan is basically a good guy, he still gets a charge out of doing something that is wrong, you know? It would be one thing if he was totally reformed but he isn't.

True, but 'bad' or 'out of line' is different from a-moral. It bothers me that Brennan thinks fondly on things that were morally questionable.

Hey they were good times and memories of times with friends.

okay I'll give you that, but Brennan never does seem to include the fact that the things he did with his friends were wrong and hurt people. He still thinks of what he used to do as only a good time. I think maybe that is one of the reasons Shalimar holds back from getting involved with Brennan, because she doesn't trust that he won't go back to being a thug.

True. But think of Xena: she was bad, REAL bad. Though she couldn't unlearn her violence, and its still very much a part of her, she did change, and she looks back on her past with a lot of shame and disgust. Brennan looks back on his past and doesn't ever say anything about it being wrong, or that he regrets hurting people. Point of fact in that one season 3 ep [can't think of the name] he picks that guy's pocket. Did he really need to? Just because that thug-ness will always be with him doesn't mean that he has to use it. He should recognize that its wrong, and he doesn't. That's one thing that I have never liked about Brennan and I think it turns Shal off, too.

My opinion was that this was a good episode. It made my laugh when Brennan smacked Lexa in the bar. This episode was a remember of the time when Brennan wasn't in Mutant X yet. And I agree with Chatte a big chalenge for Shalimar
