I think that this episode was one of the character's finest moments, especially the scenes with her father. Wow. This was some of the best writing ever done for Shalimar, in my opinion, and Victoria NAILED the emotion and the delivery!
Definately in my top 3 fave Shal episodes

Yeah I hate watching Emma go toward her death, but it is still a killer episode.
My fave part is when Shal is yelling at her father: "I am what I am and I LIKE what I am. And I would have liked myself a whole lot sooner if I though for one second that you and mom did too!"
GO SHAL!!! Vicky was so amazing in that scene. I love the way that Shalimar was written in that ep.

I liked the character of her father as well, and the way that Shalimar reacted to him. I think Shal showed a lot of character in that even though she was hurt and wary of him, she was still sort of giving him a chance. Shalimar has a very loving heart.
One of the best moments, to touch on what you said Sweet, was when Shal said, "I would have liked myself a whole lot sooner if I though that you and mom did too!" and her father's answer was "We loved you." Her parents didn't do what they did out of cruelty or malice - they loved her so much that they wanted her to be normal for her own sake. It doesn't make what they did to her right, but it makes it a little more understandable.
The emotion that Vicky put into Shal for those scenes was so perfect - she didn't overdo it AT ALL that time, and I noticed that after that, she played intense emotion in Shalimar a lot better. That tendancy to overact lessened considerably.
And I loved the character history that we got for Shalimar in this ep too!

Yeah the asylum thing was pretty extreme... Good thing that Shal broke outta there or she might have ended up like her friend Nikki...
And YES VICTORIA WAS PERFECT! And that made Shalimar so amazing in that episode, which is why it is one of my favorites.

Yeah...Nikki totally snapped...Shal was lucky enough to be able to stay with Adam which is probably why she isn't so f***ed up.

I liked it too. Aside from the fact the cliff hanger killed me. It was a grade A job!
