Now THIS was a good episode, a perfect example of how to save money with an episode and still tell an excellent story. And in all honesty the clip-to-new footage ratio was 50/50...maybe even leaning more toward the new footage. It wasn't just one clip after another, ie, it was the good kind of clip show.
One of the first things that I liked was that we got a character from season one, doc Harrison who worked at Genomex. That was a great twist. I liked too how they used the footage of Jesse in the pod in "Nothing to Fear" and spliced it with the new footage to create that scene of Doctor Harrison talking about doing the procedure on him. Good editing there.
Something that I found interesting was how toward the end, when Jess was really having trouble hanging on, he thought of Lexa...
Another interesting thing that I saw: Now that Shalimar has seen that Lexa cares about Jess, and possibly just how much, she is starting to trust Lexa more, to think of her as a teammate rather than an outsider on the team.

Yep good ep
I loved it when he turned to Lexa and said ur the reason I am still alive (didnt say exact words but u get idea). I LOVED that part I was like awwww now that is jsut sweet and when LExa got mad at her contact saying how could she not get invovled with him. I so loved this ep for all the subtext between those two (whatever you wanna call it ;D)

MAJOR Jess/Lexa subtext! ;D It was funny how the writers covered that up at the end by having Jesse say that he wanted to live for ALL of them And I mean to a degree I'm sure that is true, but at the one moment that he almost let go, he thought of Lexa and not the others. Veeeeerrrry interesting...

That scene was part of the dream Jesse was going through. Harrison wasn't there for it~~in the dream or otherwise.

As I said, because Jesse was never at Genomex throughout S1 for any purpose other than at times to infiltrate the place. I seriously doubt they kidnapped him & put him through the so-called procedure Harrison mentioned in the ep. Harrison didn't know squat about Jesse's anatomy. How stupid did the writers think the audience was when the scene was so obviously the same as the dream scene?
In fact, if you notice, Harrison was a botanist. But by the next ep he appeared he had somehow become a medical doctor & knew about Eckhart's condition. What did Harrison do? Study medicine via a matchbook cover? Or was medicine a hobby?

Let it be noted on the record that I said I thought it was good editing, not good writing. I thought putting Harrison in there was stupid for the above mentioned reasons. But the editing was good and it made for a nifty if totally contradictory scene.

I don't ever remember it being said in ' Dark Star' that he was just a botanist anyway. I thought he was a geneticist, which would make it entirely possible for him to know human as well as plant genetics.

same here cleo i knew he was a botanist but i figured he had to be more than that....like specializing in genetics b/c he knew about the mutations in the dark star team....i think he helped create the stuff to put in their blood. Note: my spelling is off due to one handed typing b/c of sprained wrist sorry if u cant read it
