sheridan was walking around the sanctuary while mason and her father were talking in the lab. she hated mason and didnt know what adam seen in that man.

mason "come on adam it will just be a few tests it wont hurt her"

"Sheridan, you're not a guinea pig," Adam told his daughter gently. "Besides, we can't use another mutant for this. Mason is helping me to try and stabilize your mutation."

sheridan looked at mason " but dad i hate when he even touchs me"

mason " that hurts me my god daughter hates me"

Adam looked at Mason. "She doesn't hate you." He looked at his daughter pointedly. "Do you Sheridan?"

sheridan sighed "dad i know i have these powers and im surprised u even care about me u hate mutants

"You're my daughter Sheridan. I could never hate you." His smile was genuine. "Without the gene therapies that caused your mutation, you wouldn't even be here right now. And I don't hate mutants. But many of them are increadibly dangerous and they need to be controlled. That's part of what Mason and I are doing, and its what you are helping to here with Mutant X."

"Yes." Adam's expression darkened. Like the ones that killed your mother... His expression shifted again and all was back to normal. "I have a new list of mutants to bring into custody, but first, Mason and I are going to run your tests, okay?"
