Before anyone panics, I've already had a talk with one of the other admins about all of this and here's the scoop:

Yes, as of Oct. 7th 2004, the puremutantx.com and puremutantx.com forum sites will be permanently closing thier doors. It is not however the end of the Pure Mutant X fandom. Another forum has been set up at www.puremx.org/forum, and a new homepage is being worked on as well. The plan is to transfer over all of the original site content [All the multimedia, essays, etc] to the new location. Unfortunately, the original content of the forum cannot be transfered, so its going to have to start all over again. All current Pure members will have to re-register at the new forum.

Also note that the url for the forum will change, and that there is not a url for the new homepage as of yet. I am in contact with the new site owners and will make updates to this thread as I get more info.

And for those of you who are wondering, the new site plans to keep the archive of Un-Official Forbes, although no final decision has yet been made.

I changed the name of this thread because I don't want to mislead anyone. Pure Mutant X is not being recreated. The new site is going to have a lot of the same members and great content that was on the original site, but it will not be Pure Mutant X. It is a new site and it starting from scratch.

Slight problem!

The server the account that mutantxphoenix is on, got hacked.

We've been down for serveral days, the server is supposed to back up our site and databases (aka the forum), however, the backup was corrupted. Therefore, we are slowly rebuilding everything!

We should have the main site and the forum back online later today (January 1st). This is very fustrating. We lost everything.
